Heartland antiques may not boast the gilded flair of the coasts or the centuries-old provenance of New England, but what they lack in pedigree, they more than make up for in character. “The Midwest came later than the East Coast, so most of our antiques date from the mid-1800s onward,” explains Sally Schwartz of Randolph Street Market in Chicago.
